Many times a landscape photographer will return to his or her favorite locations month after month and year after year, waiting for that perfect combination of light, subject and mood to create a lasting impression. I have several “spots” like this scattered throughout the Texas Hill Country and I return regularly to see if I can capture their magic.
Landscape and nature photography is a lot like baseball. The more times at bat, the better your average. Once in a while you find a spot that resonates with you and magic just happens. For me, that spot is Gorman Falls. When the Lord provides this much beauty tucked away in such a remote corner of the world you just know it’s providence.

Shot taken with a Canon EOS 5D Mark II set on aperture priority (Av) using an EF 17-40mm f/4L USM lens tripod mounted. The exposure was taken at 32mm, f/22 for 2.5 seconds at ISO 100 using a Singh-Ray warming circular polarizer. All post capture processing was done in Adobe’s Lightroom 3 Beta 2.
