These spectacular, awe inspiring images captured by Pettit were taken using an exposure time of approximately 15 to 20 minutes as the ISS gracefully orbited our planet. The long exposure masterfully captured star trails and light trails from cities across Earth. As modern digital technology usually only allows a 30 second exposure, Pettit used editing software to simply stack multiple images on top of one another, producing gorgeous images that few human beings have seen before.
