The Verdon Gorge, call Gorges du Verdon in French, in south-eastern France flanked by the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence and the Var is a stunning river canyon that is frequently careful to be one of Europe’s most gorgeous. The 25 kilometres long canyon is up to 700 meters bottomless and varies in breadth between 6 and 100 meters at the base and 200 to 1500 meters at its edge. The gorge is shaped by the Verdon River, which is naming following its surprising turquoise-green colour, one of the canyons's the majority unique individuality. The most imposing part lies flanked by the towns of Castellane and Moustiers-Sainte-Marie, where the river has slash a ravine up to 700 metres down from side to side the limestone mass. Cool Pictures.
