Landscape Photography – More Incredible Stonework

This is a shot I took last fall during a visit to the Monument Hill State Historical Site near La Grange, TX. The house was built by Heinrich Kreische in the 1850 s from stone quarried on the property. Its a testament to the skill and dedication of those early stonemasons that the house stands today and makes a wonderful photographic subject.

Shot taken with a Canon 40D set on aperture priority (Av), using an EF-S 17-85mm f/4-5.6 IS USM hand-held. The exposure was taken at 38mm, f/13 for 1/60th of a second with -1.5 EV exposure compensation at ISO 200 on Sandisk digital film. All post capture processing was done in Lightroom 2 and Photoshop Elements using Nik's Color Efex Pro filters. Click on the image above for a larger version.
